Mint Fennel Seed Biscotti

Fennel seed and fresh mint sugar give almond biscotti a gently savory, aromatic finish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seed
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 3/4 cup almonds

Method

  1. Heat oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet.
  2. Rub mint leaves into sugar, then remove large leaf pieces.
  3. Mix flour, mint sugar, baking powder, salt, and fennel seed.
  4. Stir in eggs, butter, orange zest, and almonds; shape into logs.
  5. Bake, slice, and bake again until crisp.
