Mint Tamarind Cooler

Tangy tamarind water finished with fresh mint, toasted cumin, and black salt.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons tamarind concentrate
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon toasted ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon black salt or sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon jaggery or honey, optional
  • Ice

Method

  1. Stir tamarind concentrate into cold water until fully dissolved.
  2. Muddle mint lightly in a shaker or jar.
  3. Add tamarind water, cumin, salt, optional sweetener, and ice.
  4. Shake hard for 15 seconds.
  5. Strain into glasses over fresh ice.
